Making premium Australian horse feeds is more than a passion, it's our way of life
I am an up and coming rider who is a member of the Redlands Pony Club who also competes at EA level as well. After being born in Amsterdam, I have moved around the world from Holland to Singapore to Ethiopia before arriving in Australia over 8 years ago from which I now call home.
My love of riding was first discovered when taking pony rides at the Zoo in Singapore then progressing to horse riding lessons in Holland before I eventually got my own pony here in Australia.
I have been very fortunate and thankful to be surrounded by knowledgeable people who have allowed me to grow into the horse loving person that I am who just simply loves competing and enjoying the spirit and camaraderie of this industry.
I have also completed a Certificate III in equestrian coaching which has allowed me to become involved in horse riding instructing as well as some private teaching.
I currently compete with two horses:
Sydney / Making News (Bay)
Syd is a man set in his habits and likes to voice his opinions. He walks off the float the same way each time - backwards and then turns right no matter how he is positioned.
When a car drives past his paddock after 5pm, he also lets them know its dinner time by running around till there has been a significant cloud of dust formed.
Mave / Simply Maverick (Chestnut)
Mave was well bred to be a god race horse with Irish, American and German blood but came dead last in most of his races and therefore was retired not long into his racing career.
He also has an annoying habit of eating grass roots occasionally.
Though I have competed at states for dressage, show jumping, combined training and Eventing, Eventing is by far my most favourite discipline.
HIGHLIGHT OF MY CAREER
I recently had a definite highlight which was doing my first 1* which had been a dream for so long and doing it with a clear run at showjumping and cross country especially put the cherry on top.
My other highlight was many years ago when I was doing my first ode at Burpengary and was sitting first after our dressage with the highest score of the competition after gaining four 9’s in the dressage.
I personally feed the Running Cool Sport and Barley / Soy Booster products.
I love the fact that they let my horses gain a lot of condition without making them hot, especially considering this happens easily with the thoroughbreds that I have. Another positive that I like is that I love its water absorbency which allows a lot of water to be consumed by my horses, which gives me confidence that they are getting enough fluids. A great attribute also of these products is the great shine that it has given my horses, making them look amazing.
